Spring Travel Competitive Teams provide an advanced level of coaching and competition for players who are dedicated to learning more about the game of soccer.
During the Spring season our club enters the Western Wisconsin Classic Soccer League (WWCSL) and plays teams in Northwest and Central divisions of the State. We may also schedule some friendly matches with teams from the Duluth area. In addition we have typically entered each team in two tournaments.
Do you enjoy watching them play? Would you like to learn more, get advanced training, play other competitive teams in Northern Wisconsin and participate in 2 tournaments?
We do hold one informational and onsite registration date in December. This night provides the opportunity for parents new to travel soccer to ask questions. We will also be available to assist with the on-line registration process.
Players from Ashland, Washburn, and Bayfield in the under 10 (8 & 9 year old), under 12 (10 & 11 year old), and under 15 divisions (12,13 & 14 year old). A player’s division is determined by their age on January 1st of each year starting in 2017. Players from other communities are welcome too, as long as they register with the Chequamegon Bay Soccer Club.
Coaches hold a team meeting in (mid to late March or early April) prior to the start of the season to discuss practice plans and hand out schedules. The season ends mid-June.
Teams typically practice two to three nights per week and play games on Saturdays during the season. We join the Western Wisconsin Classic Soccer League (WWCSL) and play 2 games per Saturday. WWCSL schedules 4 play dates, typically one in late April, two in May and one in early June.
WWCSL will announce game location sites in February. In the past we have played in Rice Lake, Chippewa Falls, Marshfield, Amery or New Richmond We also attend 2 tournaments. The past several years we have participated in the River Cup in Hudson, WI which is the 3rd weekend in May and the Head of the Lakes Tournament in Duluth held the second weekend in June.
Player fees for the coming season is $175 per player. This year uniforms will be provided to all players, but a deposit check will be required to receive a uniform. Deposit checks will be returned once uniforms are returned in good condition. Player fees cover the cost of tournament entry fees, league and referee fees, and Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association player registration. Families will have travel and lodging costs for out of town tournaments. We do offer partial or a limited number of scholarships based on financial need. We try and turn no one away due to financial challenges.
